2 Of .38 Special’s Albums To Be Re-Issued

38 special band pic Snakefarm Records will Re-issue two studio albums by .38 Special on July 30^th 2021 as part of its new ‘Re-Skinned’ series.

The two albums in question are ‘Wild-Eyed Southern Boys’ and ‘Special Forces’ and these will be made available on 140g coloured vinyl. Both LPs feature sleeve-notes and original artwork.

First released in 1981, ‘Wild Eyed Southern Boys’ saw the band collaborating with Survivor’s Jim Peterik and with celebrated producer 38 special wild eyed southern boys lp Rodney Mills at the helm, the album gave birth to the US hit track ‘Hold On Loosely’, which found a home on both the rock and pop singles charts and rocketed the album into the US Billboard Top 20.

38 special special forces lp This substantial success continued in 1982 with follow-up album, ‘Special Forces’. With both Peterik and Mills reprising their respective roles, the album bore significant hits in the form of lead single ‘Caught Up In You’, which became the first .38 Special track to reach the US Top 10, leaving ‘You Keep Runnin’ Away’ to push the album to #10 on the US Billboard chart.

This is the first time these iconic albums have been repressed on vinyl since they were originally issued in the 1980s, with both titles being re-mastered specifically for this format.
