Expressive abstraction mixed with fragile strength and an enveloping atmosphere – that is A.A. Williams. After a successful UK and European tour, the London artist still has more in tow: a new album, Solstice, arriving on 5 June, and a new single – complete with music video – for the impatient among us.

“Hold It Together” lives from a contradictory reciprocity. The ever-present fragile tension between resilience and internal collapse is explored not only lyrically, but visually as well.

Speaking about the song, A.A. Williams explains:

Silence exists where you long for answers, a bleak fragility that you daren’t disturb. Where beauty stood only the faintest glow remains, afraid of smothering it you shrink into a mould of your own making. Your edges dulled, your features disappearing, you put on that brave face not knowing whether you do it to protect others or yourself. You smile, you carry on, feeling everything, showing nothing.

The newly released music video guides viewers along exactly this path. An abstract spectacle that invites you to unravel the puzzle of its metaphorical power. Symbolic yet weightless: a constant interplay – a symbiosis, if you will – between black and white, darkness and light, and the radiant force of gold.

Every movement reinforces the abstraction: expressive dance versus stillness, drifting feathers, a bubbling sphere of turquoise, masking versus unmasking, emergence and disappearance.

At times, it feels as though you are standing in front of an abstract painting. It takes time and quiet to fully absorb it – to slowly grasp the connections and recognise what you are able to see.

The audiovisual experience is hauntingly delicate and powerful at the same time, much like the song’s lyricism. A compelling first taste of the upcoming album Solstice, due 5 June 2026.

The album is described as follows:

Solstice captures an artist in full command of her craft. The album is intimate yet immense, delicate yet thunderous –  guiding listeners through darkness with both vulnerability and force toward a distant, resolute dawn.

Anyone wanting to see how this visual atmosphere expands live will have several opportunities to catch A.A. Williams in a festival setting this year.
