ALCATRAZZ Release Their New Album Prior Convictions

Written by on November 7, 2025

ALCATRAZZ celebrate the release of their re-recorded album Prior Convictions, out now via BraveWords Records

Alcatrazz have just released their new album Prior Convictions and beam us straight back in time, as the 80s nostalgia hits hard. Featuring newly re-recorded versions of nine classic Alcatrazz songs from the 1980s – including the hit song God Blessed Video – the hard rock powerhouses also surprise fans with two brand-new tracks: Transylvanian Requiem and Stand and Wait Your Turn.

Current frontman Giles Lavery quite literally worked his way up to the front of the stage, having been a longtime collaborator and producer for both Alcatrazz and founding member Graham Bonnet since 2017. So it’s no surprise he’s the chosen one for the job:

We are excited to release our new “re-recordings” (plus two new songs)… this release embodies how the band sounds in 2025 and sets up the next full length original studio album perfectly, which we are writing and recording as we speak.

Keyboardist, founding member, and all-around heart and soul of Alcatrazz, Jimmy Waldo, has seen it all. Rarely having a stable lineup, Alcatrazz have switched things up more times than Sabbath has riffs. Identifying as a “supergroup” of seasoned performers, the LA-based band live for their melodic guitar firepower – and this time, they might have found a lineup that sticks:

This lineup of the band is firing on all cylinders, we couldn’t be more excited with the release of “Prior Convictions” and the upcoming European Tour.

As you heard, the good news doesn’t stop there. To celebrate their forthcoming 2026 studio album of all-new material, Alcatrazz have announced an extensive November/December 2025 European tour.

UK fans might come away empty-handed for now, as no UK dates have been confirmed yet – but the hardcore faithful can always take the short three-hour trip to Kortrijk, Belgium (November 25), or find their favourite destination here. It’s definitely worth the journey, as Alcatrazz are just getting started with their reformed and stronger-than-ever lineup.

As lead guitarist Joe Stump puts it best:

Something old is something new and these new versions of some of the old Alcatrazz classics are killer and 100% METAL.

So, there’s a 100% chance you won’t regret it.
