The British Metalcore Group Release Heartfelt Statement

After 6 years in the band Josh Middleton has said his goodbye’s as Architects’ lead guitarist. In a statement from the band the guys expressed their gratitude for their friend, ‘It is with a heavy heart that we announce Josh’s time in the band has come to an end. It has gradually become apparent that we need to go our separate ways, but we remain close friends. Josh was a life raft for the band after we lost Tom and he gave us a way to keep the band alive through the hardest experience or our lives. We will always be grateful to him for that. We wish him the best in his future endeavours and we suggest that everyone keeps an eye out for the new Sylosis record later this year.’ Founding member and brother Tom Searle passed away in 2017 after a 3 year battle with cancer. After their loss Architects decided to not release anymore music until they had something ‘Tom would be proud of”. Josh had first joined the band in 2016 as a touring guitarist before becoming a full time member a year later.

Middleton also released a response statement, mirroring the same appreciation, ‘I would just like to add a heartfelt thank you to the Architects fan base for being so accepting of me and the music I brought to the band. All of the kind words and support over the years has been greatly appreciated. As the statement says, we all remain friends and I wish the band continued success in the future!’ The guitarist’s other band Sylosis dropped their latest single, ‘Deadwood’ earlier this year, indicating a follow up album from their 2020 ‘Cycle of Suffering’. Middleton also commented on his projects itinerary for the next few months, stating the new track is ‘the first taste of what is to be a very busy year of Sylosis music’.
