AVATAR Drops New Album ‘DON’T GO IN THE FOREST’

AVATAR’s UK & European Tour Starts February 2026 w/ Alien Weaponry & Witch Club Satan

Plus: Supporting Metallica Summer 2026

The self-proclaimed underdogs AVATAR have officially dropped their brand-new album DON’T GO IN THE FOREST and also announced an extensive UK and European tour kicking off on February 5th in Stockholm.

Londoners, take note: if you don’t yet have Valentine’s Day plans, the band will play their biggest-ever UK headline show that night in London – a perfect idea for anyone who prefers their date night loud and heavy.

Alien Weaponry join as special guests on all dates, with additional support from Norwegian feminist black metal outfit Witch Club Satan, and Norwegian death-jazz band Agabas on select shows.

For fans who just cannot wait, AVATAR already launched their world tour yesterday (31st October) in Mexico City, before heading across North America for a major run of headline shows through early December.

On the newly released album, vocalist Johannes Eckerström shared:

The secret ingredient is that we still feel like we’re just getting started. ‘Don’t Go In The Forest’ is an album filled to the brim with stuff we’ve never done before. It’s all songs and concepts we haven’t been close to touch until now. The mind is wild and we have lost ourselves in the darkest woods, filled with memories, and fantasies. Forbidden thoughts that must be spoken.

Once again, AVATAR’s dedication to the abstract misfit arts shines through: The symbiotic interplay of melody and heaviness, introspective lyrics, and raw emotion cut deep into the human psyche.

Don’t go in the forest is a warning said by others, heeded as a challenge for a certain kind of freak who just can’t fight the urge to seek truth and feel alive. It is a collection of strange tunes emerging from a circus tent in a meadow in a faraway valley. You can only ever get there by accident, walking a path impossible to remember and map out. Two eyes closed, one eye open. 

AVATAR’s growth and momentum have only accelerated in recent years. Their 2023 album Dance Devil Dance included their first #1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay with “The Dirt I’m Buried In”.  The band has sold out headline shows worldwide – and even has a fossil named after them. It’s debatable which accomplishment is more impressive.

 

More than just a band, AVATAR have evolved into concept art – an abstract, theatrical, and unfiltered safe space for self-proclaimed underdogs. And with Don’t Go In The Forest, there will be countless opportunities to witness their dark magic firsthand.
