Beermageddon Festival release Halloween single for charity!
Our very own Jim Beerman has taken to the mic for spooky rendition of ‘Monster Mash’ in aid of Rock Against Child Pornography and Abuse! Revealed on the airwaves this Tuesday, the video will be premiered on TotalRock this Thursday 8pm!
Festival founder, Jim Beerman: “At Beermageddon we have always striven to support the amazing work that Rock Against Child Pornography & Abuse do. Regulars at the festival and loved by the Beermageddon festival goers, always there with a smile, and ready to chat to all. Providing an invaluable service with their trained counsellors available to assist our metal horde, be it with advice on keeping young people safe, or helping victims of abuse become survivors.
Festivals around the UK play a big part in the charities fundraising and with the Coronavirus pandemic completely wiping the 2020 festival calendar, we felt we had to do something to try and help a little. Back in 2017 as a bit of fun we recorded a single “Day Trip To Geddon” with all the proceeds going to RACPA, so we were long overdue in getting back to the studio. With Halloween fast approaching, we decided to put our tongues firmly in cheek to give a Beermageddon take on a Halloween classic with “Headbangers & Mash” and once again all the proceeds will go to Rock Against Child Pornography & Abuse.
With their big hearts it is no surprise the rock and metal community have come together with Ricky Kerr providing all the music, Craig Hartwell from Enemo J putting together a brilliantly fun lyric video, and Xander at XPR giving his time for a full PR campaign, the aim is to provide much needed funds for a charity so many of us hold so dear.”
We are a hard working, small team of 100% volunteers, working with and for victims and survivors of childhood sexual abuse, offering support, counselling and advice to help them deal with the long term effects of their abuse. We also offer information and education on the safe us of modern technology to parents, carers and young adults.
We travel with our info van all over the country, we attend events and festivals to listen and talk to members of the public, offering help and advice in strict confidentiality. We have always had a strong presence on the internet and social media, and can be contacted there via our website, Facebook and Twitter.
RACPA UK was founded in 2006 and was awarded charity status in 2012. The restrictions placed on us due to the Coronavirus Pandemic have sadly led to the cancellation of all events we had planned to attend this year, leaving us with the internet as our only means of reaching out to people.
We receive no funds or grants and finance our work via the sale of merchandise, donations and fundraisers. More information can be found on the Rock Against Child Pornography & Abuse website.
Beermageddon 2020 was of course cancelled due to the outbreak. The festival was set with Ides of March to headline, a lineup consisting of ex members of Iron Maiden, and due to be Paul Di’anno’s last performance. Thankfully they, and the rest of the lineup have deferred to 2021 with next year continuing a run of sold out events since 2011!
