Scorched Earth was a heavy metal band that emerged during the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) movement in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The band was formed in 1978 by vocalist Dave Cooper, guitarist Paul Bodley, bassist Tony Badger, and drummer Tim Krstic. They later added guitarist Dave Matthews and replaced Krstic with Andy Beirne on drums. Scorched Earth released their only official record, a four-track EP titled Tomorrow Never Comes, in 1984 on Carrere Records. The EP featured the songs ‘Tomorrow Never Comes’, ‘Questions’, ‘Where Do We Go From Here’ and ‘So Long’ . The band also performed on the BBC Radio 1 Friday Rock Show in 1983, playing two songs from their EP. Scorched Earth disbanded shortly after the release of their EP, leaving behind a legacy of powerful riffs, soaring vocals, and dark lyrics. They are considered one of the rare and obscure gems of the NWOBHM scene.
