CARPENTER BRUT Announces New Album Leather Temple

If anyone can unite worlds, it is Carpenter Brut. All the better, then, that he is about to unleash his brand-new album Leather Temple on February 27^th via No Quarter Prod / Virgin Records.

Epic heaviness meets neon-drenched cinematography. Immersion into a dystopian world is the guiding principle here – at least on the title track Leather Temple. We travel 51 years into the future, to the year 2077, and encounter a world that is difficult to look at without a tightening in the chest: silent ruin caused by a nuclear explosion. The good news – kind of – is that humanity survives, at least in part. What remains exists under the authority of transhuman elites, the so-called Overlords, who live in neon-lit cities while the rest of the population struggles to survive among the wreckage. Leather Temple is the third and final album of the Leather trilogy, following the widely acclaimed 2018 debut Leather Teeth, which partially celebrated the excess of ‘80s glam rock, as well as the 2022 follow-up Leather Terror. The new album continues this trajectory – just as spectacular, just as cinematic.

Much like the collision of dystopian worlds it portrays, the musical influences are equally wide-ranging. Rhythmic, fast-paced, yet increasingly intense. More cinematic and orchestral, yet also more direct, the album distils a saturated ‘90s electro atmosphere – dark and unflinching – driven by sharp beats and distorted heaviness.

For anyone in need of a break from everyday life, this is an invitation to dive headfirst into a neon-brutal environment and experience life as a character inside your own video game. Escapism is, after all, something we all need from time to time. Why not try it the French way: a symbiotic mix of electronic music, metal, and 1980s pop culture, fused into a unique dystopian universe.
