DAVE DAVIES TO PUT OUT UNRELEASED SONGS

Written by on August 28, 2018

Kinks founder Dave Davies is to put an album of unreleased recordings.

Titled ‘Decade’, this is to come out through Red River Entertainment/BFD on October 12. It consists of 13 recordings made by the famed guitarist during the ’70s, in a 10 year period prior to the release of his first solo album, 1980’s ‘AFL 1-3603’.

The original recordings for ‘Decade’ were unearthed by Davies’ sons Simon and Martin, and subsequently mixed and mastered. Some of the musicians who contributed to tracks include longtime Kinks drummer Mick Avory, who appears on ‘If You Are Leaving’, and Dave’s nephew, Phil Palmer, a guitarist who’s worked with Dire Straits, Eric Clapton, Roger Daltrey among others.
