Festival lineups are always full of unknowns and randoms, and we love that of course! But sometimes it helps to have a bit of background, so heres a few bands you might not have realised who/what they are!..
- Last In Line
Formed of the members from the original Dio band, which comprised of bassist Jimmy Bain (Rainbow/Phil Lynott), guitarist Vivian Campbell (Whitesnake/Def Leppard), drummer Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath/Heaven And Hell) and keyboardist Claude Schnell (Y&T/Doro). The lineup was completed with singer Andrew Freeman with current members being bassist Phil Soussan (Ozzy Osbourne/Billy Idol/Steve Lukather) and keyboardist Erik Norlander.
- Bad Wolves
Here’s a gooden! Vocalist Tommy Vext (Devine Heresy/snot), guitarist Doc Coyle (God Forbid), guitarist Chris Cain (Bury Your Dead), bassist Kyle Konkiel (In This Moment/Scar The Martyr) and drummer John Boecklin (DevilDriver), wow! They rose to fame last year with a cover of The Cranberries ‘Zombie’.
- Elvana
Ever wondered what Nirvana would sound like if Elvis Presley sang for them? No? Us neither, but now you can find out! The band have been on the circuit for a few years now selling out all over the country!
- Me First And The Gimme Gimmes
You ought to know of this supergroup cover band by now. This pop punk outfit started way back in 1995 with singer Spike Slawson (Swingin’ Utters/Re-Volts), Fat Mike (NOFX), Chris Shiflett (Foo Fighters), Joey Cape and Dave Raun (Lagwagon)!
- Simple Creatures
Here’s a new one, just three months old! Mark Hoppus (Blink-182/+44) and Alex Gaskarth (All Time Low)!
- The Conspirators
Who backs Slash and Myles Kennedy? WE know of course Myles Kennedy from Alter Bridge, but the band consists of guitarist Frank Sidoris left his band, The Cab, to join Slash in 2012 on tour, officially become a fully fledged member last year. Bassist Todd Kerns, you can look at wikipedia for his full list of bands! Drummer Brent Fitz (Bulletboys/Vinve Neil/Alice Cooper). And they’re all Canadian..
