Duff McKagan Releases Lighthouse: Live from London — 19-Track Album Out Now

 

Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan has released his brand-new live album Lighthouse: Live from London via earMUSIC.

The new release showcases highlights from his 2023 album Lighthouse, captured live during his sold-out show at Islington Assembly Hall in London on October 5, 2024. 

Featuring nearly every song from the original album, plus fan favourites and career highlights such as “Tenderness” and “Chip Away” from his 2019 record Tenderness, the album delivers a captivating and deeply personal live experience.

As a special treat for punk fans, Sex Pistols legend Steve Jones joined McKagan on stage for “Can’t Put Your Arms Around a Memory” and “Heroes”.

 

 

An authentic and heartfelt collection, Lighthouse: Live from London offers a poetic mix of personal reflection, raw emotion, and even a love song inspired by his wife Susan McKagan (“Fallen”) – all wrapped in McKagan’s distinctive melodic grit.

The LA Times praised the release as an illustration of “his unabashed heart that lies in the lyricism of songs that dig into the grit of life”. 

 

 

Grounded and content in his current songwriting chapter, McKagan describes tracks like “Forgiveness” as an evolution of his earlier song “Tenderness” – a continuation of themes and emotions he’s carried through recent years. Reflecting on that, McKagan explains:

I’ve sort of found my place of comfort on how I like my own music to sound. These really are just simple punk songs, laid bare without me screaming. The topics run the gamut, but you shall see and hear that. The idea of starting this record off with an ode to my wife, and ending with an ode to life, codify the two things I love most. I hope you guys dig what you are about to hear…”

Staying on the theme of celebrating life, McKagan has also announced a charity auction launching November 5, 2025, raising money for Toys for Tots, MusiCares, and To Write Love on Her Arms. 

Over the course of five weeks, McKagan will be donating stage-worn clothing, custom-signed jerseys, and other memorabilia via duffmckagan.com.

New items will go live every Wednesday and run until the following Monday. All purchases will arrive in time for the holidays – creating something truly special for fans while raising funds for causes close to McKagan’s heart.
