‘If Darkness Had A Son’ 7 Minute Long Juggernaut Track Released
After teasing us with snippets of new material on TikTok the heavy metal giants released their new single in the full, music video and all. The third single from their upcoming album, 72 seasons, was thrown upon the world with fury and fire. 2 years after their last album this one is as much anticipated as the any. James Hetfield previously stated the concept of the album lay in ‘the first 18 years of our lives that form our true or false selves’.
Following on from ‘Lux Æterna’ and ‘Screaming Suicide’, ‘If Darkness Had A Son’ is as fist-pumpingly ominous as it sounds. A bone crunch drum intro lays down the march as Hetfield’s chomping riff greets us in true Metallica form. With the album release date due for April 14th it’s looking like a clear runway for fully fledged metal mania.
