The Band Pay Tribute To The Late Drummer
Announcing their new upcoming album, ‘But Here We Are’, Foo Fighters did a press release about the record stating it will be “a brutally honest and emotionally raw response to everything Foo Fighters endured over the last year. Courageous, damaged and unflinchingly authentic, ‘But Here We Are’ opens with newly released lead single ‘Rescued,’ the first of 10 songs that run the emotional gamut from rage and sorrow to serenity and acceptance, and myriad points in between.”
Longtime drummer and Dave Grohl’s closest confident and friend Taylor Hawkins passed away last March in an unexpected and tragic incident that left their fans and the entire industry in disbelief. A tribute concert in September 2022 was played out to the thousands leaving its mark on the world as it lost another great musician. This morning Foo Fighters commemorated their much beloved ex-bandmate with the release of first single, ‘Rescued’. With that signature Grohl emotively hooked riff introducing us into the track he sings , ‘It came in a flash/It came out of nowhere/it happened so fast/And then it was over’.
Whilst it is yet unknown who will be drumming for the band in their upcoming word tour due to begin this May speculations have been flying. Pearl Jam’s Matt Cameron has been tipped to be taking on the gig whilst Josh Freese has also been a strong contender. Though it’s unknown which drummer recorded in the studio for this new material all eyes and ears will be on the next announcement.
