Infected Rain & Butcher Babies Tear Through Birmingham O2 Institute on 30th March 2026 | The Mutation Phase Tour!

Tour Birmingham’s O2 Institute didn’t just host a gig on March 30th,it absorbed a full force sonic assault. The Mutation Phase Tour crashed into the city with Infected Rain and Butcher Babies at the helm, flanked by the ominous presence of Black Spikes. What followed was a night that felt less like a standard tour stop and more like a statement of intent from modern metal’s fiercest voices. From the moment Black Spikes stepped onstage, the atmosphere shifted.

Their performance was drenched in shadowy aesthetics and industrial weight, blending eerie textures with punishing riffs. It wasn’t just music, it was a mood. Early arrivals found themselves pulled in almost immediately, their attention locked as the band built a slow-burning intensity. By the end of their set, the room had transformed, no longer warming up, but fully primed. An opening act in name only; this felt like the ignition point. If Black Spikes lit the fuse, Butcher Babies detonated it. Storming the stage with unapologetic energy, they turned the venue into a boiling mass of movement and noise.

Heidi Shepherd was nothing short of magnetic, commanding every inch of the stage while pulling the audience into her orbit. Her performance blurred the line between frontwoman and ringleader, urging the crowd louder, wilder, and deeper into the chaos. The band delivered a set packed with punch and precision, each track landing harder than the last. Circle pits erupted, voices collided, and for a solid stretch of time, the O2 Institute felt like it might actually lift off its foundations. This wasn’t just a performance, it was controlled mayhem at its finest. By the time Infected Rain took over, the energy in the room was already at breaking point and somehow, they pushed it further.

Lena Scissorhands owned the stage with a presence that was impossible to ignore. One moment she was unleashing raw, guttural aggression; the next, delivering haunting melodic lines that cut straight through the chaos. It was this balance, violence and vulnerability that made their set hit so hard. The band tore through a set that showcased their evolving sound, seamlessly blending newer material with fan favourites. Every song felt deliberate, every moment amplified by the crowd’s unwavering energy. And then came one of the night’s defining moments,Heidi Shepherd returning to the stage, joining forces with Infected Rain for a blistering collaboration that sent the room into overdrive. It was the kind of moment you don’t just watch, you feel it.

Verdict: Total Domination The Mutation Phase Tour didn’t just pass through Birmingham, it left a mark.

Three bands. One stage. Zero breathing room. This was modern metal at full throttle and Birmingham got hit head-on!
