JORDAN RED MAKE AN EXPLOSIVE DEBUT WITH BEAUTIFUL MONSTERS
Written by Dany Jones on February 21, 2020
Today, February 21st 2020, marks the official release date of the first single by brand new London Rock band JORDAN RED.
Stemmed from the mastermind of guitarist Dan Baker (LIFE IMITATES ART, NYA) and lead vocalist Daniel Leigh (NEW DEVICE), the duo have teamed up to create a fresh, contemporary sound dominated by roaring guitars and fervid melodies.
In a world full of chaos and in a time where the industry is spoilt with endless options, the two have felt the need for something free, truthful and simply honest. They have, therefore, decided to create a character and so JORDAN RED was born.
The name comes from the inspirational figure that is clinical psychologist Jordan Peterson and references to ‘the red pill’, as portrayed in the film ‘The Matrix’, as the road the less travelled; the option of waking up from the fantasy, the distractions and propaganda we are fed with on a daily basis and look at the stark reality for as harsh as it may be. JORDAN RED is an entity of truth.
The first single, Beautiful Monsters is electrifying; catchy, loaded with dynamics and straight to the point, where Leigh showcases a flawless vocal equalling grands of the likes of Mike Patton of FAITH NO MORE or Ed Kowalczyk of LIVE, while the instrumental provides a solid base of memorable chunky yet melodic riffs, courtesy of Baker.
The duo have not spared on quality, calling in the cavalry on the rhythm section, by utilising the aid of AS LIONS guitarist Conor O’Keefe (playing bass in this outfit) and drummer Dave Fee, let alone entrusting all star Producer Romesh Dodangoda (BMTH, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, DON BROCO, FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND), who will be working on the upcoming album.
They also involved the very talented graphic artist Elisa Schillaci, who prides a first class CV of collaborations including doing the artwork for ALTER BRIDGE and A PERFECT CIRCLE.
Beautiful Monsters tackles on the metaphorical battle between the demon of technology, the lie, the digital world of make-believe and that very essence that makes us human; the ‘beautiful monster’. Only a monster can stand up to the demon.
The perfect introduction for everything that JORDAN RED stands for and an indeed very promising debut, which marks the first milestone of new history about to be written.
With a full album planned for later in the year and a promotional tour that will follow, sounds like the best is indeed yet to come.
You can find Beautiful Monsters on most outlets now.
