And Boy Has He Got One CV
During the world wide streaming event ‘Foo Fighters: Preparing Music For Concerts’ the global megastars announced the new addition to their band. John Freese, the ultimate drummers drummer, is a stone hard veteran on the scene with more than 400 album performances under his belt. Credited as having played with Guns N’ Roses, Weezer, Nine Inch Nails, The Offspring and Vandals, Freese is no stranger to the scene and will no doubt be a sterling insertion to the universally loved band. Since the tragic death of Taylor Hawkins last year Foo Fighters have been the source of ongoing speculation as to who would replace the irreplaceable. With names being thrown around and an upcoming tour in the works it was only a matter of time before they’d release the name of Hawkins’ worthy successor.
Fans might recognise Freese from the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert in London last September. The drummer opened with his now official bandmates, playing ‘Times Like These’ and ‘All My Life’ before Hawkins’ sonOliver Shane Hawkins blew the thousands away with a tear jerking performance behind the kit for ‘My Hero’. Before announcing their confirmed UK tour dates Foo Fighters will play their first headline show with the new lineup this 24th May in New Hampshire. With an upcoming album (‘But Here We Are’) dedicated to Hawkins having the final touches put to it, his memory is sure to live on through this new era of Foo Fighters.
