Back in 1982, singer songwriter John Parr was working with his close friend and collaborator Meat Loaf. Whilst together, they wrote a track called ‘Everything They Said Was True’. The track was never recorded by Meat and had remained unheard for 40 years…until now.
Upon hearing Steve Steinman’s album ‘Leap Of Faith’ during the 2020 lockdown, both John and Meat knew they had found a home for the track and with the blessing of them both, Steve recorded the ‘lost song’ and he says “It’s a dream to be working with John Parr and made all the more special after Meat Loaf’s passing. I am honoured that they both gave me their blessings to record it. It’s the song Meat never got to sing…and he gave it to me!”
It’s no coincidence that Steve Steinman was given the song. Since his appearance on ITV’s ‘Stars In Their Eyes’ where he performed as Meat Loaf, Steve has gone on to a massively successful career touring across the globe with Rock Musicals ‘Vampires Rock’ and the critically acclaimed ‘Anything For Love – The Meat Loaf Story’.
