MEAT PUPPETS RETURN WITH NEW ALBUM, TOUR

Written by on February 7, 2019

The original Meat Puppets line-up are to release a new album on March 8 through Megaforce.

It is to be titled ‘Dusty Notes’ and is the first time that Curt Kirkwood (lead vocals/guitar), Cris Kirkwood (bass) and Derrick Bostrom (drums) have worked together since 1996.  Also featured on the album are Curt’s son Elmo playing guitar and keyboard player Ron Stabinsky.

Says Bostrom: “The band has been a really, really deep font of creativity. Love it or hate it, hit or miss, Curt is just prodigious. They are still living the rock lifestyle; they’re not doing it by half measures. They stayed on the road. These guys are uncompromising. I consider the Meat Puppets to be a national treasure.”

“We’re really excited about our new album and we can’t wait to take the new songs on the road. We’re really looking forward to getting over to Europe! Our new songs and new line-up are going to blow peoples’ minds. We always have a lot of fun when we come over to Europe, and with this line-up and these new songs, this trip will be the best yet!”

And the band will play the following shows as part of the aforementioned European tour: Limerick Dolan’s June 7, Belfast Empire 8. Dublin Whelan’s 9. Leeds Brudenell Social Club  10, Manchester Rebellion 11, Norwich Arts Centre 19,  London Venue 20.
