MEGADETH REUNION STORMS JAPAN

MARTY FRIEDMAN JOINS DAVE MUSTAINE ONSTAGE IN A ONE-OFF SPECIAL

Megadeth fans got their sweet, fair share of High Speed Dirt when ex-guitarist Marty Friedman joined the band onstage in Tokyo in a reunion that saw him and founder Dave Mustaine onstage for the first time in 23 years. Though announced a few weeks ago in a Rolling Stones interview, the novelty was not lost on their audience who are reported to have been cheering unfathomable amounts as the they witnessed a one off treat from the Megadeth family tree.

Friedman brought all his exotic scale’s sophistication to the stage, fingers like hot red coal on the strings as they played ‘Countdown to Extinction’,  ‘Tornado of Souls,’ and ‘Symphony of Destruction’. No axe metal grind was lost as the guys formed the perfect nostalgic tinged trio alongside current lead guitarist Kiko Loureiro.

Since leaving the band after quoting creative differences Friedman has resided in Japan, collaborating with a variety of Japanese artists as well as appearing in over 700 television programmes. Whilst he now thrives as a solo artist it was a Megadeth moment to remember as he seamlessly slipped back into mode with the material the band created 30 years ago. With four out of the five albums he wrote and performed on going platinum, Friedman will always have a thickly stubbed nail in the Megadeth crux.

Megadeth continue their mega world tour heading down to Austrailia before over to America and back round to Europe.
