The Moody Blues are to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their album ‘In Search Of The Lost Chord’ by reissuing it in a box set on November 2. This will be on the UMC label.

This will have three CDs and two DVDs. These will feature original and new stereo remixes of the album with bonus and unreleased tracks, including a never-before-heard mono version of ‘Legend Of A Mind’. There are also BBC Radio One John Peel ‘Top Gear’ and ‘Afternoon Pop Show’ sessions, as well as mono mixes of the related Deram single A and B sides.

The first DVD has ‘In Search Of The Lost Chord’ 96kHz/24-bit 5.1 Surround, new stereo mix and original stereo mix. The second DVD has BBC TV ‘Colour Me Pop: In Search of the Lost Chord’ (September  14,1968); ‘Ce Soir On Danse: The Moody Blues’ – ORTF French TV (July 13, 1968, previously unreleased) and ‘Carte d’Or’ – ORTF French TV (October 29,1968, previously unreleased).

The box also includes a 76-page book with extensive sleevenotes by compiler Mark Powell plus a host of rare photos and memorabilia images.

The album is also being released on 180g vinyl plus a limited edition psychedelically vinyl edition. Both of these will come with the original packaging. The latter is only to be available through the uDiscover store.
