Nova Rock 2023 – Day 3: Heavy rain shower, Clowns and Techno
During the afternoon of the third day of the Nova Rock Festival 2023, there was a slight energy dip. However, the first acts compensated for it by delivering extremely energetic performances that heated up the audience. One of the highlights was the Indian Metalband Bloodywood. They surprised most people who had never heard of them before. Incredible heavy energy with a hint of Indian Folk tunes.
Next up was Bury Tomorrow, who fired up the crowd intensely and caused one mosh pit after another. Unfortunately, the overcrowding of the first wave breaker area forced some people to use the reserved security personnel’s escape route as an exit. Be that as it may, Dan and the band absolutely rocked the stage. It was evident that the fans had a blast.
As always, the Swedish metal band Avatar delivered a highly entertaining performance, combining theatrics and captivating visuals. Their show is a treat for those unafraid of clowns, presenting a dark twist on a typically lighthearted figure. The band delivered a spellbinding performance with their fusion of melodic death metal and hard rock. Adorned in intricate costumes, they commanded the stage with immense power, leaving the audience in awe.
After a heavy rain shower during I Prevail, the festival ground turned back into a mud bath. Nonetheless, the Australian rock outfit Wolfmother was next on stage and transported the audience back to the golden era of classic rock. Their vintage-inspired sound, reminiscent of bands like Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. This resonated with festival-goers, who reveled in the nostalgia of timeless rock ‘n’ roll.
Swedish death metal titans Amon Amarth unleashed a ferocious onslaught of heavy riffs and thunderous rhythms, captivating metal enthusiasts with their Viking-themed anthems. Songs like “Twilight of the Thunder God” and “Guardians of Asgaard” echoed through the crowd, evoking an atmosphere of epic grandeur.
Having an early slot at last year’s Nova Rock Festival, Electric Callboy earned a well-deserved headliner gig this year due to their tremendous success. Our boys from Castrop-Rauxel brought their raw intensity and relentless energy to Nova Rock Festival 2023. With a fusion of metalcore, electronic elements, and melodic hooks, the band unleashed a sonic onslaught that had the audience headbanging and moshing in unison.
Lastly, late night act and German techno legends Scooter took the stage by storm. They infused their signature high-energy beats and catchy melodies into the crowd. With hits like “Hyper Hyper” and “The Logical Song,” the trio ignited an atmosphere of pure euphoria, turning the festival grounds into a massive dance party.
