Poppy Announces New Album Empty Hands and Drops Electrifying Single “Bruised Sky”
Poppy has done it again. The two-time GRAMMY-nominated singer and songwriter is gearing up for her upcoming album Empty Hands (out January 23, 2026) by dropping her second single “Bruised Sky”, following the previously released “Unravel”.
In true Poppy fashion, she continues to push boundaries in a way that’s both provocative and transcendent – captivating listeners with her surrealist roots and her signature, uncanny, machine-like voice.
With “Bruised Sky”, Poppy amplifies her hard-hitting vocal power like never before, shifting effortlessly between melodic bridges and guttural death growls. Heavy riffs collide with melody – not necessarily a new concept, but one entirely Poppyfied.
The track’s dystopian, atmospheric music video, directed by Orie McGinness, dives deep into mystical darkness, visualising the tension and depth of the song’s emotional core.

Loop the two treats, “Bruised Sky” and “Unravel”, on repeat, and you’ll be perfectly primed for Poppy’s seventh studio album. Empty Hands promises to cement her place as a true visionary – an artist unbound by creative constraints, forever blurring the lines between genres.
From performance art provocateur to video director, to sci-fi graphic novel author, to a globe-travelling recording artist whose songbook encompasses anything from brutal metal breakdowns and snappy ‘60s bubblegum, to trap-pop and grunge-punk, absolutely nothing has been off-limits when it comes to Poppy masterfully executing her varied artistic vision.
Luckily, that’s not just talk. 2025 proved pivotal for the experimental powerhouse: her collaboration “Suffocate” with Knocked Loose earned a GRAMMY nomination for Best Metal Performance. As if that weren’t enough, she also made history in 2021 as the first-ever female solo nominee in that category with her track “BLOODMONEY”. And she kept the momentum going with the powerhouse collaboration “End of You”, featuring Amy Lee and Courtney LaPlante, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart.

Hooked? Not surprising. With a constant boundary-pusher like Poppy, you never quite know what’s coming next. What’s certain, though, is that she’ll be setting stages ablaze on her newly announced 2026 Constantly Nowhere tour across Europe and Australia.
