Rockstadt Extreme Fest is a festival that has been held annually since 2013, and over the years, it has become a significant event for music enthusiasts worldwide. It showcases various music genres, including d-beat, punk, prog rock, post-rock, doom metal, post-punk, and heavy metal. With 70 bands set to play across three stages, this year’s festival promises to be the biggest and most exciting yet.

Based in the heart of Transylvania, Rockstadt Extreme Fest is a unique festival self-financed and independent. The fans are the largest sponsors, and their loyalty and trust in the festival have sustained it over the years. The festival will take place between the 2nd and the 6th of August 2023, just 30 minutes away from Brasov, in Rasnov City, it will host 3 stages and no less than 70 bands on all 5 days. Rockstadt Extreme Fest offers more than just great music; it provides a unique opportunity to explore the beautiful Transylvania region, famous for its natural beauty, rich history, and culture.

It is located by the Rasnov Fortress, a medieval fortress located atop a hill that offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The fortress is a popular tourist attraction and a must-visit destination for anyone attending the festival. Other tourist sites around the festival area include Valea Cetatii Cave, LiBEARty bear reservation, and the infamous Dracula’s Bran Castle.

New Additions to the Lineup

Rockstadt Extreme Fest 2023 is shaping up to be one of the biggest metal festivals of the year, with an incredible lineup of bands confirmed to perform. ARCH ENEMY will be playing their first-ever festival headliner show in Romania. They will be promoting their new album, Deceivers, which has been one of their most successful albums to date. Also headlining the festival are HEILUNG, who will be performing a unique ritual in the middle of the Carpathian forest.

Other notable bands that have been confirmed for Rockstadt Extreme Fest include TRIVIUM, ALESTORM, OBITUARY, DYING FETUS, DEICIDE, MARDUK, DROPKICK MURPHYS, AMORPHIS, LIONHEART, WITHIN DESTRUCTION, MESHUGGAH, and AGNOSTIC FRONT. Each of these bands brings its own unique sound and energy to the festival, with a mix of doom metal, jazz, blues, post-metal, and hardcore.

IN FLAMES, will also perform at the festival, this time with highly anticipated new songs and a setlist that includes their most popular new and old hits.

ARCHITECTS will be joining the line-up after recently finishing their first series of concerts with Metallica and are bringing their visually stunning show to the festival.

Rockstadt Extreme Fest 2023 will also feature some amazing female artists, including ARCH ENEMY, EPICA, THERION, TRIPTYKON, HYPOCRISY, SOULFLY, EYEHATEGOD, TRIVIUM, MESSA and EMPLOYED TO SERVE. The festival is committed to showcasing diverse talents from all over the world.
