A somber day for the Music community mourning the loss of one of the greatest heroes of all times.
Tributes keep pouring in from all over the world in remembrance of the late Neil Peart, writer and drum extraordinaire of legendary Canadian band Rush, who just lost his three year long battle to brain cancer at the age of 67.
Never has an hashtag been so used while rockstars as well as fans all over the world have taken to social media to pay their respects to the iconic drummer. Amongst those paying tribute the Foo Fighters, Periphery, KISS, Sons of Apollo, Metallica, Black Sabbath, Primus, Megadeth and many more.

His fellow band mates Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson are said to be heartbroken. They called him a friend, a soul brother and band mate who shall never be forgotten.
Neil Peart has passed away on January 7th in Santa Monica – CA. The news of his passing have been confirmed by his publicist and have today been made official.
Peart was a true gentle soul, whose life had been ridden with grief and yet still managed to climb his way back up and carry on. The ‘Professor’, as many called him, has been a true source of inspiration for generations and keeps being dubbed as one of the greatest drummers of all times. Between writing lyrics and mastering a refined technical ability that has inspired musicians and fans all over the world, he has played a fundamental role in the success of the band. Following a long and prosperous career since the 70’s, Rush were, in fact, inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.

Two years later, however, Peart announced that he had decided to retire from the music world and only later it would be discovered that this was due to the illness that was devastating him.
The world loses a true pillar of the music community.
