Sixx A.M. – ‘Sixx A.M. Hits’
Better Noise Music
Sixx A.M.’s new collection album ‘Sixx A.M. Hits’ is packed to the gills with the band’s biggest hits, five unheard tracks and mixes, as well as a new track ‘Waiting All My Life’, that hasn’t appeared on any Sixx A.M. album to date.
The songs that definitely caught my attention were the following ‘Life Is Beautiful’, ‘This Is Gonna Hurt’, ‘Lies Of The Beautiful People’, ‘Rise’, ‘Stars’, ‘Are You With Me Now’, ‘Accidents Will Happen’, ‘Gotta Get It Right’, ‘We Will Not Go Quietly’, ‘Penetrate’, ‘Waiting All My Life’ and ‘Skin [Rock Mix]’.
The songs that didn’t catch my attention were the following ‘Pray For Me’, ‘Maybe It’s Time’, ‘Skin’, ‘Belly Of The Beast’, ‘Girl With Golden Eyes’, ‘The First 21’, ‘Talk To Me [Radio Mix]’ and ‘Life Is Beautiful [Piano Vocal]’.
Is this album worthy of investing in? Well, it’s good points thankfully outweigh the bad, however unless you’re a die-hard that absolutely has to hear the unheard tracks on offer then you probably won’t get the most out of this collection. The fact that most of the bands output tends to sound very samey doesn’t help matters either.
For the newbie to Sixx A.M., this collection will intrigue and you’ll wonder what the 4 albums ‘The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack’, ‘This Is Gonna Hurt’, ‘Modern Vintage’, ‘Prayers For The Damned And Blessed’ and 3 EPs ‘X-Mas In Hell’, ‘Live Is Beautiful’ and ‘7’ have to offer. To be honest, you’re better off going down that route, than give this a cursory listen on a streaming service or on CD, which is a shame, believe me.
