Star Circus Release New Single ‘Save Your Life’
Written by Johnson Stephen on April 22, 2020
‘Save Your Life’ is the second single by Star Circus and looks set to be released 24th April 2020. Written and performed by Dave Winkler (Ryan Hamilton & the Harlequin Ghosts, Renegade Playboys, Annabella’s Bow Wow Wow). It’s an altogether darker, heavier and more emotive song than the debut release, ‘Love Is The Enemy’, but still retains the energy and melodic integrity that has been established.
The song ‘Save Your Life’ was written in the wake of Chris Cornell’s tragic suicide. It’s not a tribute or homage, it’s about the concept that you can often fail to know what’s happening in someone’s head, unless they choose to communicate. People who appear to be successful, healthy and happy sometimes have an inner turmoil that they don’t share with the outside World.
The track’s subject matter is extra poignant during the uncertain times the world is facing during the Covid-19 pandemic. Communication is more important than ever, especially regarding mental health, as we are all reassessing what is truly important in life.
Once again produced by Tony Wilson, mastermind of the BBC Radio 1 Friday Rock Show and Total Rock, the track features performances by Dan Stevens of Inglorious on bass, drums by Moyano El Buffalo (Ella Skye, Diamond Black, Louise Distras), and some choral vocals featuring Sisters of Mercy guitarist Ben Christo. It is likely to be the opening track of the forthcoming album, due later this year.
