STATIC-X ANNOUNCE ANNIVERSARY SHOWS

Written by on March 27, 2019

Static-X are to play ten shows in the UK later this year.

These will celebrate the 20th anniversary of debut album ‘Wisconsin Death Trip’ and also act as a tribute to frontman Wayne Static, who died in 2014.

They’ll be supported on this visit by Wednesday 13, SOiL and Dope. The dates kick off at SWX in Bristol on September 24, before heading to Cardiff Tramshed 25, London Electric Ballroom 26, Nottingham Rock City 27, Leeds Stylus 28, Southampton Engine Rooms 29, Newcastle Northumbria Institute October 1, Glasgow Garage 2, Manchester Ritz 3, Birmingham O2 Institute 4,

“Our intention is to pay ultimate respect to Wayne and to celebrate the music that has been in all of our hearts for more than 20 years,” says bassist Tony Campos. “It’s all about channeling the vibe from 1999 to the best of our ability and playing those classic Static-X songs live and loud.”

Commenting on the tour, Soil add: “In order to pay our own special tribute to our friend Wayne Static on the upcoming UK and European Static-X memorial tour, we have decided to play the SOiL song ‘Give It Up’ that was recorded with a bunch of Wayne’s vocals on it. Naturally these tracks are pre-recorded and will be integrated into our live set.  Wayne sang many parts in the song and it was a very special recording session. We were able to get the vocal tracks isolated from the recording masters and thought this will be SOiL’s way to pay tribute to an amazing musician and friend. The song will only be played on these dates, so if you miss it there will not be another chance to witness it. We are looking forward to seeing you all on this very special tour!”
