Takedown Festival 2026 Names Therapy? as New Friday Headliner
Just a few more nights of counting sheep and Takedown Festival will be back. But the calm before the storm never really happened — a bit of back and forth is part of the game. In true name fashion, Takedown has now taken down its previously announced Friday headliner. Stepping in instead: Therapy?.
Removing the question mark? Hardly. More like turning it into an exclamation mark as they take their place on the Kerrang! Stage. The Northern Irish alternative metal pioneers know their place in the charts — and their influence on the UK alt-rock scene. After all, who else manages to blend punk, heavy metal and industrial influences into such a lively mix? Therapy? Therapy!
Also joining Friday’s bill is alternative rock outfit Grumble Bee, mixing the softer blossoms of emo and indie into their sound.
All other details remain the same:
When: 3–4 April 2026 (Friday Doors: 4pm; Saturday Doors: 1pm)
Where: Portsmouth Guildhall
Saturday’s line-up is equally strong. PRESIDENT take the headline slot and will put their dark, boundary-pushing energy to the test with their first-ever festival headline appearance. As representatives of the new generation of UK alternative and metal acts, they should be more than ready.
Things stay intense on Saturday: UK electro-punk / nu-metal revival duo Wargasm already carry a reputation for explosive live shows — there’s little reason to expect anything different here.
As It Is bring their alternative / pop-punk sound, while Graphic Nature, one of the most prominent bands in the UK’s nu-metal revival scene, deliver aggression at full volume.
A few Friday highlights shouldn’t be forgotten either. Legendary British rock band The Wildhearts remain masters of punk-tinged hard rock and big melodies.
Theatrical horror also finds its way to Portsmouth with South Of Salem, bringing their horror-soaked hard rock to the stage.
And the list doesn’t end there. That’s only part of the bill. Further details, including the full line-up and remaining tickets, can be found here.
