TENACIOUS D CONFIRM ‘POST APOCALYPTO’ PROJECT
Written by Malcolm Dome on September 5, 2018
Tenacious D are to release ‘Post-Apocalypto’ in the autumn.
This is not just an album, but also a six-part animated video series, with each frame hand drawn by Jack Black, while all the characters are voiced by Black and bandmate Kyle Gass. The first episode will be aired on September 28 via Tenacious D’s Youtube channel, with subsequent episodes coming out on succeeding Fridays.
The storyline deals with the world following nuclear devastation, with the two heroes surviving inside in a 1950s fridge! And now Tenacious D must save the world. Mind you, they’ve still got time to release a new album, also called ‘Post-Apocalypto’ on November 2. Featuring Dave Grohl on drums, it will be available on CD and also translucent green vinyl. There’s also to be a limited edition vinyl picture disc, but this will only be on sale through the band’s online store.
