THAT JOE PAYNE AND DORIS BRENDEL TEAM UP FOR TOUR
Written by Malcolm Dome on December 19, 2018
That Joe Payne and Doris Brendel are to play three co-headlining shows in England next year.
The dates are London Hoxton Underbelly March 16, Bristol Exchange 31, Bilston Robin 2 April 14.
Says Payne:
“For me, this will be my first official tour since leaving The Enid in 2016, and for Doris a rare chance to deliver a full set after a year of supporting Fish and Wishbone Ash. The pair of us will be showcasing our latest solo material.
The tour was originally planned as a double-headline show for myself and Kim Seviour. With the dates being leaked just weeks ago, the official announcement was held off due to uncertainty over Kim’s health which has since led her to her choice to no longer be involved with the events.
I totally understand Kim’s reasons for dropping out of the tour. I’ve been there myself in the past, and sometimes we have to put our health first. I wish her all the best in her recovery and apologise to any of our fans who have been confused by the change of plan.
The unexpected outcome of this is that I now get to share a stage with Doris, and I’m absolutely delighted to be working alongside another artist who prides herself on visually ambitious performances, as well as her fantastically eclectic catalogue of progressive-pop-rock tunes.”
