The Warning is currently on a World Tour supporting the Album ‘Keep Me Fed.’ The rock trio, all sisters, made a stop in Minneapolis, Minnesota to a packed Fillmore venue. Speed Of Light also performed as tour support.

The Warning are currently on the ‘Keep Me Fed’ World Tour for 2025 and made its last stop for North America in Minneapolis, Minnesota as they took over The Fillmore for a night of music that was packed with the bands loyal fan base. The band Speed of Light provided tour support.

Speed Of Light was the first band on the stage. They are a sibling trio from Santa Monica, California. On vocals and bass was Riley and her brothers Tyler, on drums, and Cameron, guitar, were flanked on each side. The band exploded on stage for a short half hour set that might have been short in length but had enough time to leave a mark on the crowd. Clearly, this band was new to most of the people there but that just seemed to add fuel to the desire of the band to be seen and heard. Musically is came across as simple raw energy in its purest form. Direct and frontal and unapologetic. There was a real punk like feel to the music but also moments of alternative inspired moodiness. I couldn’t tell you a song they played as I had never seen or heard of them but my lasting impression was this band has a lot of potential to grow and polish the sound they want to have. It was clear to me the trio has the drive to do it. Hopefully good things to come from this group.

The lights dropped and the crowd erupted. The three sisters, Paulina, Daniela, and Alejandra Villarreal took to the stage and launched into “Six Feet Deep.” From that moment the crowd never took a break. They were all in on this trio from Monterrey, Mexico that have built an undeniable following as they have toured all over the world. The Warning played Minnesota for the first time back in 2022 on the ‘Mayday Tour’ in a much smaller venue just blocks away from The Fillmore. They were just starting to make a mark on music fans in America and it was clear back then that they were building momentum very quickly and more success was coming their way. The evidence was the packed venue and everybody singing along to every word.

Daniela, lead vocalist and guitarist, sounded amazing the entire night. It didn’t matter if she was delivering the aggressive chorus of “Choke” or the haunting and emotional song like “Escapism,” she had it covered. Even with lead vocals and her guitar duties, she worked the crowd and prowled the stage making sure to invite every person in the building into her world and become part of the show. Anytime I have seen The Warning, I am always drawn to the bass playing of Alejandra. She is so vital to the bands sound as she provides the foundation for the music and gives plenty of runway for the single guitar to shine. The other thing she does so well is provide the critical backing vocals that are so vital in The Warnings songs. This show was no different and I always take time to focus on the bass playing and appreciate what she is doing. Paulina on drums is one of those must see drummers, she is so energetic and really has a personality to be in the front of the stage. She also is unbelievable with her backing vocals and at times, lead vocals. Dany did mention that Paulina was not feeling the best and you could see she wasn’t her normal self but she battled through the set and still gave the fans what they wanted to see.

The set included sixteen songs, ten of which, were from the 2024 album ‘Keep Me Fed.’ Some of my favorites from that album that they played included “S!ck,” “Hell You Call A Dream,” “More” and “Sharks” which Dany gave a speech in tribute to the great Ozzy Osbourne who recently passed away. I am still a fan of the many of the songs from the ‘Error’ album and songs like “Money,” “Disciple” and “Evolve” were amazing to hear live. The song “Automatic Sun” closed out an amazing show. From the time I saw them in 2022 until now, it is astounding how much further they have established their sound, the stage show, and how tight the band is on stage. That evolution was really fun to see and it will be interesting to see what comes next for this trio and hopefully they will continue to grow and establish new fans so the next time they come to Minneapolis they can headline a bigger venue. Time will tell but its been a great ride thus far following this band and seeing the growth they have had over the years.
