TotalRock challenge to interview every act on the bill for Download Festival 2021!

We’re not ones to back down from working hard, each year we cover as many festivals as possible interviewing bands large and small, with Download festival being no exception, we typically clock in at 50+ interviews over the weekend!

But this is 2021, what does the future hold for not just festivals, but the way we can cover them? We’re absolutely hopeful our metal Mecca will take place this year, so we’ve decided to take matters into our own hands. Protecting artists and staff, and our own crew, we instead have decided to interview every band ahead of the event rather than onsite. This means we can talk to loads more acts, and even should the event not take place – we’ve had a little fun anyway, and given that most bands roll over to the following year we’ve already put in the ground work.

But why stop at that, why not interview EVERYONE playing?! So that is our challenge to ourselves, to talk to every act on the bill! Of course, headliners aren’t game for playing along with interviews normally, but if we get this in the bag – who knows, they might give in!
