TotalRock launches its Band of the Month initiative to shine a light on one up & coming band each month.’
Chosen collectively by the station’s DJs, the winning band will receive plays across the station’s shows, interviews and a dedicated page on the website with all the band’s links.

Blind River
2020 sees Blind River release their second full-length album “Made Of Dirt” on May 25th 2020, recorded in just 4 days at The Old Chapel Studio, Chichester.
This album was more of a collaboration than the first, part of which was already written before the line up was complete. This time around we’d spent thousands of hours in the back of a van together, sharing sounds and discussing what works for us. Everything was written while the five of us were face to face, throwing suggestions back and forth. We think it makes for a far more focused and multi-textured record.
It was recorded in four days, completely live with no click tracks or editing involved. What you hear on this record is the sound of a band in a room, sweating blood for their art!
Lyrically ‘Made of Dirt’ goes a lot deeper than the first album. Now we know each other so much better, it feels easier to open up more with my views on humanity – and the lack of it! There’s a message in most of the songs, but a bunch of head-nodding riffage to lose yourself in if you just wanna switch off for 45 mins!
We’re stoked with how this album has come out, and crushed that our plans to tour it have been wiped out by covid. So what else can we do – album no.3 is currently underway! Stay tuned!
History.
Formed at the start of 2017, Blind River are a 5-piece heavy rock band created to bring classic, pure, riff driven song writing to the fore. The band have been steadily growing a dedicated fan base using the tried and tested method of constantly playing every sweatbox bar and beer soaked venue they could find, writing and fine-tuning their songs in front of an ever increasing audience as they went.
Having become friends while travelling across the UK and Europe as members of touring bands including Godsized, The Earls Of Mars and Pig Iron, the band have brought together the experience and expertise gained from hard work and determination, to give birth to this foot-stomping, fist-raising, rock n roll experience. Their method of test-driving material on the road has created one of the tightest live bands on the circuit, resulting in a 4 day recording session where the band recorded, mixed and mastered a complete 10 track album with producer Peter Miles.
This work ethic led to supports for the likes of Grand Magus, Voodoo Six and Warrior Soul before even releasing a record during an unprecedented first year in existence. After the album release in 2018, the band went on to tour with Inglorious, City Of Thieves and Marco Mendoza as well as having support slots for The Supersuckers, Anvil, Bonafide, Hawklords, Massive Wagons, Hogjaw, Tony Wright, and many more. Plus appearances at Desertfest, Metal Brew Festival, Hard Rock Hell Festival, Ramblin’ Man Fair and a repeat appearance on the Sophie Lancaster Stage at Bloodstock Open Air.
