TOTALROCK PARTNERS WITH MONSTERFEST 2023
TotalRock are proud to announce that we have partnered with music’s most northerly UK music festival, Monsterfest 2023 which takes place in Inverness, Scotland from November 2-4th.
With the station already working with festivals south of the border, Scottish based presenter Dunk MacKellar (who presents our Monday night show Keep It Rock) was keen for us to make our mark north of the border too.
“As a big radio supporter of the grass-roots scene and, especially with the growing Scottish contingent at the station, I was driven to make this partnership happen. Scotland is often overlooked when it comes to coverage and it meant a huge deal to me when Tony (Wilson) gave me the green light to link with Monsterfest. The line-up is cracking too and features many bands that I play on the show so it will be a pretty stonking stage on the day.” – Dunk MacKellar
The main day line up features Scarlet Rebels, Anchor Lane, Marisa And The Moths, Silent Thieves, South Of Salem, Kit Trigg, North Atlas and SKAM. With other smaller, more intimate local gigs happening on the preceeding Thursday and Friday.
“TotalRock has several Scottish based DJs and it’s long overdue that we reflected that by partnering with a Scottish festival. The existing relationship between Dunk MacKellar and Monsterfest makes this a perfect match for us.” – Tony Wilson
Monsterfest, which is named after the area’s most famous resident, the Loch Ness Monster, will be celebrating its 5th anniversary after kicking off with The Dead Daisies and Dan Reed Network as headliners in 2018. The festival is now in its new home of Eden Court Theatre where it successfully changed part of the venue into an all-purpose Rock arena for last year’s festival featuring GUN, Marco Mendoza, The Virginmarys and Mason Hill among others.
The other part of the festival that organisers are very proud off, is the Education element started in year one where school students spend a day with industry speakers and have the opportunity to hear interesting stories, journeys and behind the scenes look at what it takes to put on the festival which is supported by local organisation Developing Youth Workforce (DYW).
Mark Allison, one of the festival organisers commented about partnering with TotalRock,
“We are delighted to work with the guys at TotalRock as it not only gives them the opportunity to open up to a new audience in the north of Scotland, it also gives Monsterfest additional credibility in being recognised on a national stage along with larger festivals in the south.”
Monsterfest takes part from the 2nd of November to the 4th of November in Inverness with 2 nights of Festival Club featuring local bands and artists at club venue The Tooth and Claw before the main event on the Saturday at Eden Court Theatre.
