After Experimenting, Disturbed Regain The Heavy

On December 3rd 2022 Disturbed debuted at number 3 on the album sales chart with newest record, ‘Divisive’. After straying into the beautifully woven experimentations of 2018’s – rightly named – ‘Evolution’, the band saw themselves back into no fuss, heavy metal territory. Lead single ‘Unstoppable’ was and is somewhat of a battle cry to their poignancy as hammer sledge leaders of the scene. Today they dropped the music video for the fist-in-hand single with a part animated, part real-life dystopian feel. Of the song lead singer David Draiman stated, ‘partisan tribal warfare has become a part of our regular existence nowadays. It’s one big battle of the cliques. The whole idea of the record is to be a wakeup call for everyone. Our society has become addicted to outrage. Music is the best cure for what ails us though. If only everyone reached out and used it. There’s no better environment to forget about all of this shit than live music. We can be together and realise we have more in common than not. Recognise what’s happening and let’s make a change for the better.”

It’s certainly one of the heavier tracks on the record. Coming in with a fiery, wrath worthy riff chug from Dan Donegan ‘Unstoppable’ crescendos into no-substitute metal glory. ‘Here Me Now/It’s Unavoidable/I Fullfil My Vow/There’s No Escape/I Am Unstoppable’. The rest of the album is just as mind-numbingly void of any ease up as it sweeps the floor with an undying heat. Disturbed kick off their tour in 2 days in Montreal and continue over to Europe.
