Download Festival Update!

Written by on March 1, 2021

download festival 2022The Promoters of Download Festival, Live Nation, has issued a statement and it reads as follows:

We can now confirm that Download Festival will no longer be taking place in 2021, but we do have exciting news for 2022.

We never gave up hope of bringing the festival back to Donington in June 2021 and had been working so hard behind the scenes to make that happen, but we now know it’s not possible. We’re heartbroken for everyone in the Download family, from artists to suppliers and of course our passionate Download fans.

We’ll be back on 10th – 12th June 2022, as strong as ever, with an amazing set of Headliners, namely Kiss, Iron Maiden and Biffy Clyro.

If you purchased a ticket, you are very welcome to retain this and carry it over to next year. Alternatively, you will be able to receive a refund from your ticket agent. Look out for an email from them very soon and please only contact them if you have not been contacted after 5 days as they are very busy at this time.

If, like us, you love planning ahead, then make sure to grab the first release Download 2022 Weekend Tickets when they go on general sale this Friday 5th March 2021 at 10am. That includes our Instalment Plan and – extremely popular – luxury RIP Camping options too, for those who fancy going all out next year!

Horns up. We’ll see you in 2022.
