The Iconic Instrument Brand Teams Up With Green Day Punk Rocker
Thirteen studio albums, the diamond-selling ‘Dookie’ record, a broadway musical (American Idiot) and a 2015 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It was starting to look as though Green Day was running out of achievements to smash out the park. But fear not, earlier today Gibson guitars announced the very special collaboration between them and frontman Billie Joe Armstrong.

The brand new limited edition Billie Joe Armstrong Les Paul is promised to be as generation defining as its power chord proprietor. In a statement from Gibson,’The Billie Joe Armstrong Les Paul Junior is an exceptional guitar to rock out on. It has everything you need for great tone with no frills to get in your way, including a mahogany neck with a Billie Joe Armstrong SlimTaper profile, rosewood fretboard, Graph Tech nut, and Billie Joe’s signature on the truss rod cover. The mahogany body is equipped with a wraparound bridge/tailpiece and a P-90 DC Dogear pickup. Designed by Gibson Master Luthier Jim DeCola, the P-90 DC is our latest hum-canceling design. It features a modernised version of the Sidewinder dual-coil technology that was first developed by Seth Lover in 1958, delivering a hum-free P-90 with the most authentic P-90 tonality yet, retaining the classic sound of a single coil P-90 while eliminating the noise. Available in Silver Mist and Vintage Ebony Gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finishes, a pink custom Billie Joe Armstrong Protector series hardshell case with a leopard interior is also included.
Green Day’s UK Hella Mega tour last summer saw Green Day prove that they haven’t lost an inch of their insatiable rock ‘n’ roll wrath. They continue to tour, hitting all the major festival with the promise of more.
