Written by Malcolm Dome on January 18, 2019
Saxon are to play three UK dates towards the end of this year to mark their 40th anniversary.
Dubbed the Castles & Eagles Tour, it kicks off at the Braehead Arena in Glasgow on October 18, and then heads to the Eventim Apollo the next night and finally goes to the O2 Apollo in Manchester on October 20. Black Star Riders and Girlschool will be on the bill in Glasgow, with Girlschool, Krokus (who are on their farewell tour) and Diamond Head playing the other twoi dates.
Says Biff Byford: “We are very happy to be celebrating 40 years of Saxon by playing these great venues – to be back at Hammersmith and Manchester Apollo is fantastic and to see all our Scottish friends at Braehead Arena just tops it off!
“The show will be the biggest and best since the classic era of the band and the set list will be… well let’s say we’ll start with ‘Wheels Of Steel’ straight into’ Strong Arm Of The Law’ into ‘Denim & Leather’. That good enough for you?”
Tickets go on sale from 10am on January 25.
In the meantime, Biff is currently working on his debut solo album. More details are expected soon.
