Singer songwriter and slide guitar maestro Troy Redfern brought his unique blend of bluesy rock’n’roll and gritty vocals to the Maiden Stage at The Maid of Stone Festival to an enthusiastic crowd!!
Redfern who is due to embark on his 11 date UK headline ‘Invocation’ tour on 17th June, left the audience breathless as he slid up and down the fretboard like it was on fire!! With Kiera Kenworthy on bass and Nicky Waters on drums, Redfern and his band were as tight as it gets! One of the best tracks of his set was, ‘Scorpio’ from his album, ‘The Fire Cosmic’ which was loaded with Redfern’s searing guitar sound and big punchy vocals spilling over with rebellion and wrath!
Redfern’s voice had a raw and gritty edge to it, dirty blues and rock at its finest! He had the edgy look of Captain Jack Sparrow and the musical prowess of Kenny Wayne Shepherd yet with the swagger of Marc Bolan and the voice of a dirtier Paul Rogers and he set the stage on fire! Every pounding track was bursting with attitude and high-octane blues energy, with smooth effortless licks, hooks and slides. This was a show that the audience would never forget!
